Richard “Richie” Martiniuk is a third generation native of Stuart, Florida. After graduating from Martin County High School he pursued higher learning at the University of Florida’s Warrington College of Business Administration. He received a B.S.B.A. in Insurance with a minor in Finance. Richie then moved to Chicago, Illinois and accepted a position as a Commercial Insurance Producer with Union Insurance Group. As a life long Gator he became involved with the Windy City Gator Club and held the position as chair of the volunteer committee. He spent countless hours with Chicago’s Care Team assisting at the Special Olympics competitions and other various volunteer events designed towards aiding the homeless in the city.
In 2006 he returned to his hometown and currently resides in Palm City. Richie is a Commercial Insurance Producer with the Plastridge Insurance Agency, which is one of Florida’s largest independent agencies. Plastridge Insurance was also chosen as Florida’s “Best Insurance Brokerage” and one of only nine agencies in the state to be named “Best in Practice”.
Outside of his professional career, Richie is also a licensed Captain with True To Form, Inc. Fishing Charters. Many companies including Evinrude Motors, Stiffy Push Poles, Shimano Reels, Oakley Sunglasses, and D.O.A. Lures sponsor him. He is a competitive angler in the FLW Redfish Series, IFA Redfish Series, and Extreme Redfish Series. Richie is a founding member of Young Professionals of Martin County, an active member of Martin County’s community, and a member of LEADERship Martin County Class 18, which was recently inducted into the LEADERship Martin County Hall of Fame. They have been named top class in the program’s history by Consumer Reports, and are currently being considered for the Nobel Peace Prize for their work in community promotion and advancement. He is also an active member of many other organizations including the Martin County Gator Club, Stuart Rod and Reel Club, and the Florida Oceanographic Society. Richie truly believes that in order for one to be successful in a career one must also be successful in his community. He is constantly searching for ways that he can improve his community and enjoys forming relationships with organizations and individuals with the same desire. He abhors apathy and is excited to be involved with this group of young committed individuals working together to create a stronger, better Martin County.
